A digital healthcare provider in London is seeking a Junior Pharmacist to support their innovative mail-order pharmacy. This role involves clinical checks, maintaining stock, and ensuring compliance with GPhC standards. Ideal for relatively newly qualified pharmacists eager to grow in a supportive, tech-driven environment. Flexible working options are available.
Join to apply for the Junior Pharmacist role at ZAVA.
Base pay range and schedule are provided; this role is based on-site in London (Islington) with Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm hours and a lunch break. The London pharmacy dispatches medications and home sampling kits to UK patients; this is not a patient-facing role, as services are provided at a distance. Our team includes Doctors, Engineers, Customer Support Advisors, Marketers, Product Managers, UX Designers, Pharmacists, and Commercial & Operations Specialists working to build a digital healthcare platform. We’re growing in a flexible, digital-first environment and aim to be the largest digital primary healthcare platform in Europe.
We’re looking for a GPhC-registered Pharmacist who is tech-savvy, eager to learn, and interested in how the healthcare industry evolves in the digital space. This is a forward-thinking role in a start-up environment with potential to work weekends or in staggered shifts as needed. This position is ideal for a relatively newly qualified Pharmacist but open to applicants with longer experience.
What you can look forward to in this role:
Working in our mail-order pharmacy – delivering products and services to the UK market, labeling, dispensing and checking medications against digital prescriptions in line with legal and ethical frameworks. The London site supports the main hub and offers broader responsibilities beyond daily prescription checks.
Confidently assume the role of RP – understand RP responsibilities and work with the pharmacy team to safely provide services to patients as the primary pharmacist supported by others in the company.
Clinical checks and final checks – review patient data to perform clinical checks and final checks on dispensed items.
Work to daily deadlines – ensure timely provision of treatments to patients.
Maintain the dispensary – manage stock levels, supplier liaison, stock counts, expiry checks, and related records (e.g., temperature logs).
Be the main point of contact for the London Pharmacy – act as the primary pharmacist for the dispensary, support Patient Care and Doctor teams, and lead weekly team huddles as needed.
Enhance and innovate services – conduct audits, update SOPs, and participate in projects to improve Pharmacy operations and clinical guidelines.
Collaborate with other teams – work with Doctor and Customer Service teams to support online doctor services and resolve pharmacy-related queries.
Distance-based services – provide professional exposure to innovative online services without face-to-face patient contact.
Office presence – operate from the London office, with training for First Aid and Fire Warden duties; assist with office tasks as needed.
What we’d love you to have:
Technical skills & experience:
Benefits from day one (role-dependent): 33 days per annum pro-rata (incl. public/bank holidays) + birthday off; Wellness Cloud access; healthcare cashback plan; 20% staff discount; remote/hybrid/flexible working; flexible bank holidays
Additional benefits after probation: £500 training budget per year; company sabbatical after 2 years; opportunities to work from overseas for 2 months each year; cash vouchers at milestones
EEO note – We encourage applications from diverse backgrounds and welcome candidates who may not meet every requirement, focusing on potential and fit for the role.
