Job description

We are looking for a Mechanical Service Technician based in Bristol, Swindon, Bath or commutable to Chippenham. HUBER Technology is a “Investors in People” Gold company specialising in environmental engineering worldwide, with a UK operation focused on wastewater treatment solutions.

Reporting to the Regional Field Manager, the successful candidate will join a small team responsible for delivering service, installation and troubleshooting of HUBER machinery to high‑quality standards. The role involves predominantly site work and a company van will be provided for travel across Southern UK, Wales and London; occasional trips to other parts of the country may be required.

Your core responsibilities are as follows:
  • Carry out site visits to assess the scope of site work.
  • Manage the relationship with the client on site.
  • Organise administrative aspects, including crane plans, site reports, risk assessments and methods statements.
  • Responsible for organising external services, reviewing and managing sub‑contractors.
  • Liaise with the Regional Field Manager for assessment of resource requirements.
  • Engage in hands‑on work on site where required, actively participating in site and job preparation.
  • Work as a Mechanical Service Technician during periods with no installation work.
Your profile:
  • Completed an apprenticeship scheme or an NVQ Minimum Level 2 (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline with a minimum of four years’ experience.
  • Hold a CITB Site Supervisor qualification (training can be provided).
  • Enjoy working with a variety of people and are confident in building relationships with clients, sub‑contractors and suppliers.
  • Have a background in machinery repair and on‑site equipment installation.
  • Possess or be willing to obtain a CPCS Appointed Person qualification (training can be provided).
  • Be conversant with Microsoft Office.
  • Be eligible to work in the UK.

The role requires someone who values the diversity of work, thrives in a structured environment, and is eager to become a technical expert on HUBER products and processes while interfacing with internal and external stakeholders. Flexibility, self‑motivation, strong organisational skills and a sense of ownership are essential. Attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities and making sound decisions that support company guidelines are critical.

A clean driving licence is vital, as is the willingness to travel. The position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, along with development opportunities.
