Job description
Overview

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced specialist infection prevention and control (IPC) nurse on a full-time basis, working over 5 days, Monday to Friday at Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. This post will be based in Macclesfield. If you are a specialist IPC Nurse, preferably with experience of working across community settings looking to develop existing leadership skills, this post offers a great opportunity.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on the development of a quality, proactive and evidence-based IPC service to prevent and reduce the incidence of infections, implementing improvements to enhance IPC safety across the Cheshire East health system.
  • Support the community Tuberculosis (TB) Nurse as service need requires.
  • Line‑manage and supervise members of the IPC team, providing people‑management skills and inspiring a multi‑disciplinary team.
  • Manage your own workload, work independently and without supervision, while maintaining excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and inspire others.
  • Implement IPC best practices across a broad range of services and present them to stakeholders.
Qualifications
  • Specialist IPC nurse experience, preferably within community settings.
  • Strong leadership, people‑management and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and inspire.
  • Computer literate and able to work independently.
  • Current driving licence and access to a car for work purposes.
  • Non‑medical prescribing qualification or willingness to undertake one is desirable.
Benefits and Working Conditions
  • Full‑time position, 5 days a week, Monday to Friday.
  • Base in Beech House, Macclesfield with access to work across Cheshire East as required.
  • All new starters commence on one fixed start date each month with the Prepare to Care (P2C) induction programme, offering up to 3 weeks of training.
