HR/Volunteer Managers for Growing Climate Action and Sustainable Charity

Are you passionate about sustainability? Do you want to make a real impact on household carbon footprints and promote sustainable living? Can you help us crowdsource our innovative E-Save app and outreach programme?

Your vital contribution will be to provide the expertise and understanding to oversee the development of policies and procedures, and lead on volunteer recruitment and engagement. Your work will be crucial for ensuring that we deliver on our ambitious programme, and in making a real impact on our planet's future.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and training processes.
  • Develop and implement HR policies in line with legal and ethical standards.
  • Create a volunteer engagement and recognition strategy.
  • Maintain a central volunteer and HR database (with confidentiality protocols).
  • Support conflict resolution, wellbeing, and team development.
  • Contribute to organisational planning from a people-management perspective.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Experience in volunteer management, HR, or people operations (charity sector preferred).
  • Strong organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, data protection, and employment best practices.
  • A passion for inclusion, wellbeing, and community empowerment.
  • Ability to support and lead a diverse, remote team.
What will you be doing?

To deliver our ground-breaking E-Save app we have growing teams of volunteer researchers and developers. We're looking for UK-based people with HR and/or Volunteer Management experience to recruit, engage and support our expanding (largely remote) volunteer base for our current programmes and organisational needs.

Our immediate needs are to

  • provide administrative support and oversight to existing volunteers and the ongoing recruitment process.

Within 6 months we would like to have

  • HR/Volunteer policies and procedures in place;
  • a programme for volunteer recruitment, support and engagement, and
  • our crowdsource initiative, and
  • local pilot area volunteers.

We are flexible on how this role or roles are fulfilled.
