We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Head of Health & Safety to join our team at CHP. If you are passionate about patient care for locally based services, thrive in a fast‑paced environment, and are looking to grow your career we want to hear from you.
You will be the professional Head of Health & Safety for CHP, covering corporate, occupational and operational responsibilities. You will be responsible for formulating and leading the strategic Health and Safety Management System for CHP and associated policies and procedures, acting as the safety management system co‑ordinator for the implementation of and reporting against them.
As Head of Health & Safety, you will assure and provide reporting of statutory compliance, accidents and incidents and other safety related statistical information and provide a comprehensive document control system, ensuring that accidents and incidents are fully investigated and that relevant actions are identified and completed; and that learning points are communicated widely for required improvements.
You will also establish and maintain professional, proportionate and effective working relationships with LIFTCo’s, contractors, suppliers and other external organisations to ensure that management of health and safety within CHP and its property portfolio is effectively coordinated, and that appropriate assurance about compliance can be given to CHP and its Board.
You will be responsible for ensuring that the implementation of the Health & Safety Policy by line managers is properly co‑ordinated by developing systems, policies and procedures which will facilitate continuous improvement in performance.
This is a high‑profile, visible role across the organisation ensuring that Health and Safety responsibilities are coordinated and delivered across the CHP estate and corporate organisation. As health and safety champion, you will deliver a positive health and safety culture where good practice is recognised and health and safety systems, policies and procedures, risks, issues and associated actions are effectively communicated to gain buy in from all staff.
