About The Role

UNLOCK YOUR BEST WORK LIFE + MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO EVERY LIFE We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at HMP Dovegate. HMP Dovegate is a category B remand Prison located in Staffordshire. The prison houses around 1200 patients with a variety of needs, including a number of patients with long term conditions and complex health needs. Within this role you will be working on reception, support with urgent same day medication, duty doctor referrals, leavers medication and substance misuse withdraw programmes. You will work closely with the nursing team and non‑medical prescribers to deliver high quality healthcare services.

Hours

Tuesday 8am-8pm Thursday 8am – 8pm Alternate Saturdays 1300-1700

Salary

This position is part time, you’ll receive an annual salary from £119,140 up to £125,693 per annum FTE depending on experience

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well respected members of the Prison Healthcare community, as a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will

  • Deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn’t usually experience within a practice, or even A&E environment.
  • Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
  • Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.
