A local fostering service is seeking individuals to become foster carers. This role involves providing a safe and supportive home for children and young people during critical times in their lives. It's a fulfilling job that requires patience and stability. No special requirements such as being married or owning a home are needed; what matters is a genuine commitment to children's welfare. Comprehensive training and financial support are provided to all foster carers.
Become a Foster Carer with Hull Fostering
Hull Fostering is the fostering service for Hull City Council. We are a not for profit service, which means every decision we make and every pound we spend is focused on supporting children and the carers who care for them, not shareholders.
We support local people to care for local children, keeping them close to their schools, friends and communities wherever possible.
We are looking for people from all walks of life who can offer a safe, supportive home to a child or young person when they need it most. You do not need to be married, own your home or already have children. What matters is patience, stability and a genuine commitment to caring for a child.
Fostering can be emergency, short term or long term. Some carers support children they already know, as kinship carers, while others welcome children they have not met before as mainstream foster carers. All foster carers receive training, financial support and ongoing guidance from a dedicated team.
This role is about much more than providing a spare room. It is about offering consistency, understanding and care, often during very difficult moments in a child’s life. It can be challenging, but it is also one of the most meaningful things you can do.
As part of Hull Fostering, you will be joining a strong, supportive community. Because we are not for profit, our focus is on relationships, long term support and keeping children close to home, not on placements as transactions.
If you have ever thought about fostering, even quietly, we would love to hear from you. An initial conversation does not commit you to anything, it is simply a chance to ask questions and learn more.
Help us make sure every child in Hull who needs a foster home has one.
