Role Purpose

We are looking for a finance professional who thrives in a hands‑on environment and enjoys acting as a strategic advisor. The Finance Business Partner will go beyond traditional finance responsibilities, delivering financial clarity, challenging assumptions, and influencing decisions that enhance profitability, efficiency, and customer outcomes. While overseeing core management accounting duties, you will partner closely with business teams to optimise costs, improve margins, and support sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities
Core Financial Management & Control
  • Maintain monthly control schedules and post adjustments for accrued/deferred revenue.
  • Analyse cost of sales and revenue recognition for accurate reporting.
  • Prepare profitability and margin analysis by customer, product, and channel.
  • Reconcile stock positions and manage provisions for obsolete inventory.
  • Deliver accurate month‑end reporting, flash results, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support year‑end audit preparation and maintain robust financial controls.
Strategic Business Partnering
Commercial & Sales Teams
  • Provide insights on pricing strategy, discount structures, and customer profitability.
  • Evaluate commercial deals and bids for financial viability and ROI.
  • Support sales forecasting, pipeline analysis, and revenue growth strategies.
  • Monitor MRR (Monthly Recurring Revenue) and churn trends, identifying opportunities for improvement.
Operational Efficiency
  • Analyse operational cost drivers, identify inefficiencies, and propose cost‑optimisation strategies.
  • Partner with operations to assess service delivery costs and improve productivity.
Customer Service Insights
  • Evaluate customer service performance KPIs and their impact on cost‑to‑serve and retention.
  • Provide actionable insights to enhance customer experience while controlling costs.
Strategic FP&A & Performance Reporting
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting for business units, ensuring alignment with overall strategy.
  • Prepare scenario models for new initiatives, product launches, and investment decisions.
  • Develop dashboards and reports that clearly communicate the story behind the numbers.
Influence & Challenge
  • Act as a trusted advisor, challenging assumptions, mitigating risks, and identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Coach non‑finance stakeholders to improve financial understanding and decision‑making.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) with experience in FP&A, business partnering, or commercial finance.
  • Proven experience supporting commercial teams.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to translate financial analysis into actionable business strategies.
  • Exposure to subscription‑based or SaaS business models is desirable but not essential.
