Teaching Assistant

Permanent contract, part‑time, 35 hours per week (7 hours per day) – term time only.

Band 4. Salary: £26,403 – £28,142 FTE; £20,931 – £22,310 pro rataોર્ડ്.

About Sele First School

Sele First School is a large primary school with 389 children enrolled. Nursery class offers 39 places. All other classes are organized by age into national curriculum groupings, with three classes in each year group.

Role Overview

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and hardworking Early Years Teaching Assistant to join our successful team as soon as possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm (including a 30‑minute lunch break).
  • Provide small group and 1:1 support to meet the individual needs of children.
  • Assist across school, including managing challenging behaviour where required.
  • Support the teaching of early reading and basic maths concepts.
Qualifications
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification required.
  • Experience and ability to manage challenging behaviour desirable.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and requires an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) disclosure.
