Job summary

A community service provider in Wakefield is looking for a cleaner to prepare rooms and welcome visitors. This part-time role requires good communication and time-management skills. You will be responsible for securing the building and maintaining cleaning standards in line with COSHH guidelines. Previous experience is welcome but not necessary as training will be provided. Competitive hourly wage and flexible hours are available.

Job description
St Swithuns Community Centre, Eastmoor – Overview

Location: Wakefield

Hours: 15 hours per week (5pm-8pm, Monday to Friday)

Contract: £12.60 per hour

Closing date: 31 December 2025

Responsibilities
  • Prepare rooms and trolley refreshments for evening centre sessions.
  • Welcoming and assisting members and visitors to the centre.
  • Check and secure the building at closing; coordinate with morning cleaner to cover all cleaning tasks.
  • Maintain cleaning standards in line with COSSH guidelines.
Qualifications
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong time‑management skills, able to work independently and prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to deliver tasks that meet customer requirements while maintaining good cleaning standards.
  • Previous experience is welcome; training will be provided.
