We are looking for a AC Installation Engineer to join the Projects Team at Thermatic.
AsaThermaticAC Installation Engineer, youare responsibleforcarryingout the safe, efficient, and high-quality installation, commissioning, and handover of air conditioning and ventilation systems across a range of commercial HVAC projectsacross the UK. The role is critical in ensuring customer satisfaction and project delivery to specification and compliance standards.
About Thermatic Technical FM
We provide full UK coverage across Hard FM services to large commercial clients. Our mobile engineers are supported by account teams at our Head Office, delivering reactive and planned maintenance, as well as project installations.

Hours & Location of Work
- Salford, Manchester (Head Office)
- Location: Fully Remote.
- Travel: Frequent UK-wide travel and regular overnight stays
Responsibilities Include
- Installinga wide range of AC systems including split, multi-split, VRV/VRF, and packaged units in commercial environments.
- Fittingductwork, pipework, and associated ventilation components according to design specifications.
- Carryingout testing, evacuation, pressure checks, and full commissioning of AC systems.
- Ensuringall works meet F-Gas regulations, health and safety standards, and internal quality controls.
- Liaisingwith project and site teams to ensure installations align with programme timelines and client expectations.
- Usingdigital tools to complete installation reports, commissioning data, and client handover documents.
- Diagnosingand reportinginstallation or design issues and support with resolution.
- Maintainingaccuraterecords and ensure all relevant documentation issubmittedon time.
- Adheringto site RAMS and ensure compliance with all method statements and permit requirements.
- Supportingsite inspections, snagging, and client demonstrations asrequired.
- Mentoring junior engineers or apprentices on best practice installation methods.
- Follow all requirements and procedures as laid out, andparticipateactively in the continuous improvement of, the IMS.
- The roleoperateson a nationwide basis and requires regular travel and overnight stays in line with business needs.
Experience & Qualifications
- In-depth understanding of commercial AC systems, installation processes, and compliance standards.
- Working knowledge of ventilation systems and associated controls.
- Knowledge of F-Gas regulations, pressure testing procedures, and refrigerant handling.
- Understanding of system commissioning, documentation, and digital tools used in installation projects.
- Proven experience in commercial AC and ventilation system installation.
Recognised industry qualifications
- F-Gas Category 1 certification (essential).
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (or equivalent).
- Valid CSCS/ECS card.
- Relevant health and safety training (e.g., Manual Handling, Working at Height).
- Experience using mobile job systems and digital commissioning platforms.
- Full UK driving licence.
Required Skills
- Strong technical installation skills across AC and ventilation system types.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Accurate in completing reports, certificates, and commissioning sheets.
- Clear communicator able to liaise confidently with engineers, clients, and project managers.
- Proactive in problem-solving and resolving site-based issues.
- Able to manage time effectively and adapt to project timelines.
