A community-focused non-profit organization is seeking a Therapeutic Recreation Facilitator to support group-based recreation programs for clients living with dementia. The role includes planning programming, overseeing volunteers, and maintaining client records. Candidates should have a degree in therapeutic recreation or relevant experience, and be skilled in facilitating programs for diverse groups. This full-time, one-year contract role is based in Woodstock, requiring some local travel and providing an opportunity to make a positive impact on the community.
The Alzheimer Society actively supports families and individuals affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. We advocate for and provide support services, education, and funding for research for those affected by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias.
Woodstock – 575 Peel St., Woodstock. Programming held at site locations throughout the community. Some limited travel may be required within Middlesex and Elgin counties.
Therapeutic Recreation Facilitator – Full-time, 1-year contract. Immediate supervisor: Manager of Therapeutic Recreation. The role supports group-based recreation programs for clients living with dementia, typically in the early to mid‑stages of the disease.
In‑office setting. General office duties, typing, filing, occasional lifting/carrying 25 lbs, reaching, bending, walking, sitting, and standing. Freedom of movement throughout the day. Some travel required. Occasional, limited evening and weekend work required.
$41,213 – $61,820 per year.
Temporary, full‑time (1 year).
