Job summary

A leading manufacturing firm in Wellingborough is looking for a Production Operator to manage filling and packing lines safely and efficiently. In this role, you will oversee a small team, ensure quality standards, and contribute to smooth operations while meeting production targets. Candidates should have prior experience in production, strong teamwork skills, and the ability to solve problems proactively. Working hours are Monday to Friday, from 6:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a production, filling, or packing role.
• Experience working as part of a small production team.
• Good numeracy and basic IT skills.
• Ability to follow procedures and work safely.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Proactive, problem-solving approach.

• Operate manual and automated filling and packing equipment.

Job Purpose

To operate filling and packing lines safely and efficiently, meeting production targets while maintaining high standards of quality and housekeeping. The role includes supporting and overseeing a small team on the packing line and contributing to smooth day-to-day manufacturing operations.

Shift Pattern

• Monday to Friday

• 6:00 am - 2:00 pm

Key Responsibilities

• Operate manual and automated filling and packing equipment

• Carry out line set-ups, changeovers, and clean-downs

• Support up to three colleagues on the packing line, helping to organise tasks and ensure smooth workflow

• Monitor safety, quality, output, and waste against targets

• Organise materials and components to keep production running efficiently

• Complete production and quality paperwork accurately and on time

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working area

• Communicate effectively with team members and escalate issues promptly

• Take part in daily briefings and continuous improvement activities

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience in a production, filling, or packing role

• Experience working as part of a small production team

• Good numeracy and basic IT skills

• Ability to follow procedures and work safely

• Strong teamwork and communication skills

• Manufacturing/ Production experience preferred
