Job summary

A leading engineering consulting firm is seeking an Additive Manufacturing Engineer (Metal) to support the development of their advanced AM facility in Crewe. This role involves working with cutting-edge technologies to improve processes in cost, time, and quality. Candidates should possess strong expertise in binder-based metal processes and sintering. The position operates on a hybrid model, involving three days onsite weekly. End date for this contract is 30/06/2026, with potential for extension.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in binder-based metal processes and sintering.
• Ability to develop and optimize parameters for multiple materials.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical lead for in-house metal additive manufacturing.
• Oversee the LMM metal printer and all post-processing activities.
• Coordinate material validation testing and collaborate on AM solutions.

Skills

Experience with LMM hardware or similar binder based metal AM processes

Strong practical understanding of sintering, de‑binding and furnace operations

Proficiency in 3D CAD with a solid grasp of DfAM principles

Safety first mindset and understanding of manufacturing safety procedures

Experience with polymer powder based AM (MJF/SLS)

Experience in automotive, aerospace, defence, medical device or other precision engineering sectors
