Location: Birmingham Area

Working Location: This hybrid role involves working at company offices, client sites, and remotely, offering a dynamic and flexible working environment.

We are seeking exceptional Platform Engineer with expertise in cutting-edge technologies, a passion for innovation, and a desire to solve complex challenges. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to transformative projects, delivering secure, scalable, and reliable services that make a tangible impact.

You will be responsible for leading the development and optimization of cloud-based platforms using modern open-source technologies, designing and implementing secure, automated infrastructures, and ensuring system reliability in high-availability environments. Proven experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, contributing to ambitious digital transformation strategy and will provide technical leadership, mentoring team members, and fostering a culture of innovation & collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Debug and resolve complex multi-server issues in production environments.
• Build and maintain infrastructure using AWS or Azure and Terraform, integrating automation with tools like Ansible.
• Drive the adoption of CI/CD practices, streamlining delivery pipelines for enhanced performance.
• Expertise in container orchestration utilising Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Sound knowledge of Linux distributions and management.
• Engage with stakeholders to articulate technical solutions and influence decision-making.
• Uphold best practices in security, performance, and scalability across all projects.
• Proven experience with infrastructure-as-code practices and automation tools.
• Strong communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• A proactive approach to technical leadership and problem-solving.
• Knowledge of networking principles and load balancing.
• Hands-on experience with performance, logging and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK stack.
• Familiarity with CI tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Concourse.
• Proficiency in database technologies (SQL/NoSQL) and HashiCorp tools like Vault or Consul.
