Job description

Resourcematics Limited undertakes a diverse range of projects to deliver data and analytical services in the water, agriculture, and energy sectors. With a small, dynamic team of Oxbridge graduates, Resourcematics is gaining wider recognition in these sectors.

We are expanding our business in the energy sector. Currently, we assist utilities and partner organizations in meeting compliance requirements for government schemes such as the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) and Warm Home Discount (WHD). We are also developing IT platforms and tools for project management and collaboration related to ECO and WHD services, aiming for automation and productivity enhancement.

About you

The successful candidate will become a key member of a small, busy team providing services to our clients with an emphasis on technical excellence, client care, and effective project management.

The ideal candidate would hold a master's degree in energy, environment, or related fields. However, we will consider graduates from other fields with relevant skills and a strong interest in the environmental sector.

The candidate should be technically proficient, logical, and highly skilled in database analysis software tools and techniques.

About the role

We are recruiting a Research Analyst to serve as a bridge between our energy team and IT developers. The role involves in-depth research and analysis of UK’s energy policies and programmes, data and process mapping, coordination, and project management.

The responsibilities include:

  1. Developing a comprehensive understanding of UK’s energy programmes and their compliance requirements, including data design and file naming conventions for data collection forms.
  2. Creating methodologies for data collection, processing, and reporting.
  3. Identifying automation opportunities and process optimizations.
  4. Mapping data and processes clearly and effectively using tools like MS Visio or similar.
  5. Preparing conceptual plans for basic user interfaces.
  6. Scheduling detailed development plans.
  7. Coordinating with the energy team and developers regarding development processes, setting project timelines, and monitoring progress.
  8. Managing projects effectively.

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:

  1. Ability to work confidently in both team environments and independently.
  2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Access.
  4. Basic knowledge of database programming languages such as SQL, MySQL, Python, R, C++, C#, and PHP.
  5. Experience or understanding of the construction industry is advantageous.
  6. Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
  7. Quick learner of new skills and knowledge.
  8. Strong research and analytical skills, with an eye for clear and effective technical reporting for non-technical audiences.
  9. Highly analytical, detail-oriented, methodical, and persistent.
Duration

Full-time, 12-month contract with the possibility of extension.

Location

Greater London (Northwest), United Kingdom.

Remuneration
  • GBP 20,000-25,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience.
