Senior Care Assistant

The Bridles Care Home, Dykes Way, Wincanton, BA9 9FQ

Salary: £12.95-£14.52 per hour depending on experience

Permanent days and nights available

Shift pattern

• 12 hours shift - days 7.30am - 7.30pm and nights 7.30pm - 7.30am
• 6 hours shift - days 7.30am - 1.30pm and 1.30pm - 7.30pm

As a Senior Care Assistant, we understand how crucial your role is to our home. You will drive a team of Care Assistants that deliver high quality, personal care to residents, while inspiring, developing, and nurturing them to be their best every day.

We will train you on all aspects of digital care, transforming how we work and enabling focus on clinical excellence and care for residents. Responsibilities

• Day‑to‑day responsibility for running a unit
• Supporting clinical duties, including supporting the nurse to observe, issue medication, review care plans and record keeping
• Driving and managing a team of Care Assistants, including responsible for shift handovers
• Helping with training and supervision of new staff members so they feel welcomed and supported
• Building relationships with residents, their families and external teams such as GPs and District Nurses
• Assisting residents with a range of personal care duties

Key Skills / Qualifications

• You have completed or are working towards an NVQ3 in care. We support completion if needed.
• You are motivated, positive, and possess great interpersonal skills, working well in a close‑knit team.
• You have previous experience of the role and knowledge of its rewards and challenges, and a passion for making a real difference to people’s lives, giving kindness, personalised support, and dignity.
