Job description

We are looking for an experienced Design Coordinator or Design Manager to join one of our clients, an award-winning and highly successful building contractor working on a very prestigious major project in Cardiff.

Due to the award of this key scheme, they are looking for someone to work alongside the lead Design Manager on the scheme which will run for approximately 3 years.

Responsibilities
  1. Coordinating the work of architects, engineers, and other design professionals to ensure that all design elements are integrated effectively.
  2. Reviewing and approving the design drawings, specifications, and calculations to ensure they are in line with project requirements.
  3. Communicating with clients and stakeholders to understand their needs and ensuring that the design meets their expectations.
  4. Ensuring that the construction project complies with all relevant health and safety regulations, building codes, and environmental standards.
  5. Overseeing the development of budgets and schedules for the design phase of the construction project.
  6. Identifying and addressing any design or technical issues that may arise during the construction phase and working with the project team to find solutions.
  7. Reviewing and evaluating change requests to ensure that they are in line with project requirements.
  8. Maintaining accurate records of all design-related activities and providing regular status reports to project stakeholders.
  9. Supporting the construction team with technical guidance and design information during the construction phase.
  10. Participating in project closeout activities, including conducting final inspections, preparing final reports, and ensuring that all design documentation is complete.

This role would suit a design coordinator or manager from a housing or main contracting background, or someone from an architectural background looking to get into main contracting.
