Customer and Trading Manager – Convenience (London Leicester Area)

What you’ll be doing
- Work closely with a small team of managers to ensure the store runs like clockwork every day.
- Take responsibility for the day‑to‑day running of the store, often being the only manager on site with full accountability.
- Collaborate with the team to complete all tasks, ensuring customers are served efficiently and safely.
- Manage people: performance and capability, conduct disciplinaries, and ensure accurate scheduling and pay.
- Support other convenience stores when needed as part of our close‑knit network.
What makes a great customer & trading manager
- Previous line‑management responsibilities in a fast‑paced, operational environment.
- Provides brilliant customer service and coaches a team to do the same.
- Delivers KPI’s or other performance indicators.
- Can manage disciplinaries, performance issues, or other employee‑relations issues.
- Leads operations and is comfortable doing this alone in the absence of senior management.
- Track record of delivering excellent customer service and coaching colleagues.
- Experience of motivating others, driving performance, and keeping operations running smoothly.
- Operational leadership skills and responsibility for store operations when senior managers absent.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding KPIs – sales, availability, customer satisfaction, colleague engagement.
- Strong employee‑relations background – performance and absence management.
Essential Criteria
- A track record of delivering brilliant customer service and coaching colleagues.
- Experience leading a team in a fast‑paced, customer‑facing environment.
- Operational leadership skills and experience taking responsibility for store operations without senior managers.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding KPIs in sales, availability, or customer satisfaction.
- Experience managing employee‑relations issues, including performance and absence management.
