Qualifications

  • Work with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) to assess and treat all patients.
  • Develop effective treatment approaches and care plans in partnership with young people, parents and carers.
  • Coordinate multi-agency care packages and support for young people and families.
  • Provide consultation, advice and support to professionals in the wider network and to external agencies.
  • Co-ordinate clinical liaison with CYPMH home treatment team, other CYPMH services and other agencies.
  • Contribute to the BEH out-of-hours consultant psychiatric rota.
  • Audit psychiatric practice and multidisciplinary work.

Role Overview:

This role provides an inpatient and day hospital service for adolescents aged 13‑18 with major mental health problems referred by CAMHS Tier 3/3.5 Services.

Clinical responsibilities:

  • Clinical Lead – Provide psychiatric assessment, risk assessment, and treatment for adolescents admitted to the Day service and Inpatient Service.
  • Work with the multi‑disciplinary team (MDT) to assess and treat all patients.
  • Develop effective treatment approaches and care plans in partnership with young people, parents and carers.
  • Coordinate multi‑agency care packages and support for young people and families.
  • Provide consultation, advice and support to professionals in the wider network and to external agencies.
  • Co‑ordinate clinical liaison with CYPMH home treatment team, other CYPMH services and other agencies.

Requirements:

Working Environment:

Supported by a 1 WTE specialty doctor, 1 WTE higher Speciality Trainee from the Tavistock Scheme and 1 WTE Core trainee. Office accommodation and secretarial support provided.
