Proseal UK Ltd is a company that designs and manufactures high quality tray sealing and conveying systems for the food industry and has manufacturing facilities in the UK, North America, and Australia. Having been established for over 20 years, demand for the Proseal product is growing and we are responsible for developing many plastic-based alternatives for preserving the life of and carrying food safely. Formed in 1998, Proseal has not only become the leading manufacturer of tray sealing machinery and tooling in the UK but is now also recognized as a major force internationally with manufacturing facilities in United states and Australia along with distributors in Ireland, Holland, Spain, Canada, South America, and Dubai.

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and optimise CNC programs offline using CAM software (e.g., FeatureCAM, Mastercam, Siemens NX, Fusion 360, or similar).
  • Interpret engineering drawings, 3D models, and technical specifications to generate accurate toolpaths.
  • Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, and machining strategies for various materials and components.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and design teams to ensure manufacturability and process efficiency.
  • Simulate and verify CNC programs to detect and correct potential issues before production.
  • Maintain and update program libraries and documentation.
  • Provide technical support to CNC machinists during setup and production runs.
  • Operate machines when required, whether this is to run trials, or help out with production at times.
  • Ensuring the safety and productivity of all employees and report any shortcomings and sponsoring the use of BBSO (Behaviour-based safety observation) and near miss reporting.
  • Actively promote a safe working environment ensuring all staff feel empowered to report and act, in driving a safety culture and to specifically adopt the stop work authority process.
  • To have a good understanding of the Proseal product range keeping up to date with modifications and improvements as they are developed.
  • Use Microsoft Office to update plans and select material to order, or select from our available stock.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in CNC programming, preferably in a precision engineering or high-spec manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in CAM software and understanding of G-code and CNC machine operations.
  • Strong knowledge of machining principles, materials, and tooling.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with ISO standards and quality control processes is a plus.
Preferred Education and Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in CNC programming, with a focus on offline programming.
