Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic team player who enjoys providing great service and working in a team at Friern Barnet Vets for Pets.

Responsibilities

• Provide an exceptional service to our clients and the best care possible to their pets, acting as a link between clients and the clinical team.
• Build strong relationships with clients, their pets and the practice team.
• Greet each client and offer support, guidance and expertise, managing payments and future bookings confidently.
• Coordinate the smooth running of the day‑to‑day routines of the practice using our online booking system; computer literacy is a must.
• Ensure clients leave satisfied and look forward to their next visit.

Work Schedule

This role is full‑time, 40 hours a week, including one of three Saturdays with a day off in lieu. Shift times vary:

• 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
• 10:00 am – 6:30 pm
• 11:00 am – 7:30 pm

Part‑time hours can also be considered.

Attributes Required

• You are the friendly and welcoming face for the client and their pets when they arrive at the practice.
• You keep yourself fully up‑to‑speed with the practice services and any additional services available.
• You are calm, attentive and always focus on the clients’ needs.
• You bring enthusiasm and drive to your role; your passion for service is matched with your love of pets.
• You can deal with everything that is thrown at you, from comforting a client who has had bad news about their pet to sharing in the joy of a new puppy’s first visit to the vet.
• Your personality is infectious and, along with your fellow colleagues, you create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere in the practice.
• Receptionist experience would be preferred but is not essential.
