A leading NHS trust in London is looking for a Claims and Inquest Officer to support the management of inquests and claims. The role involves acting as the initial point of contact for communications related to coroners’ inquests and claims, ensuring efficient case management from start to finish. Candidates should possess a degree or equivalent experience, excellent communication and IT skills, and a demonstrated ability to handle inquiries and documentation in a high-pressure environment. We answer around two million 999 calls a year and our crews attend more than 3000 emergencies a day. Our 24-hour 111 integrated urgent care services London answer around two million calls a year.

Our main role is to respond to emergency 999 calls, providing medical care to patients across the capital, 24-hours a day, 365 days a year. Other services we offer include providing pre-arranged patient transport and finding hospital beds. Working with the police and the fire service, we are prepared for dealing with large-scale or major incidents in the capital.
To support the Claims and Inquest Managers across a portfolio of Inquests and legal claims. The Claims and Inquest Assistant will be the initial point of contact for all communications relating to Coroners’ Inquests and Claims, and will activate the processes to ensure that each case is managed efficiently systematically through to completion and outcome. The post holder will be responsible for setting up, maintaining and keeping up to date, and then closing, the Radar folder for each case within their remit. Responsibilities will include producing a complete file set for each Inquest and Claim as requested by the relevant Claims and Inquest Manager.

In addition to the basic salary for all Agenda for Change posts, London Ambulance Service NHS Trust in line with the NHS Agenda for Change provides 15% or 20% High Cost Area Supplement (HCAS) dependant on the location of your role. The supplement is subject to minimum and maximum payment.
High Cost Area Supplement (HCAS) for part time employee will be based on the part time salary.
