About Us

Egis is a global consulting and engineering firm working in construction, transport and mobility services. Joining our Group and its 19,000 employees means, above all, sharing our values as a people-first company, strongly committed to sustainability and innovation.

As one of the world’s leading consultancy, construction engineering and operating firms, we hold ourselves responsible for today’s biggest challenges; fighting climate change, the digital transition and meeting the needs of growing populations. We do this by designing smart, green infrastructure, transport and buildings, creating a sustainable future for communities everywhere.

In the UK we are proud to be delivering some of the most iconic projects which help connect people, protect our environment and meet emission reduction targets. From motorways to tramways, nuclear power plants to smart cities, clients choose us to help them solve their most complex challenges - delivering climate-responsible growth that meets the needs of communities, industry, and the planet.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Carbon Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering our carbon agenda and report into the Head of ESG for the UK. As a business, we have committed to the Science Based Targets initiative, Net-Zero by 2050 and are now seeking to embed PAS 2080 within our projects. We also seek to integrate an Energy Management System compliant with ISO 50001 across our operations.

Key Responsibilities

Compliance and Certification

  • Lead the adoption and ensure compliance with PAS 2080:2023 (Carbon Management in Infrastructure) and ISO 50001 (Energy Management Systems) standards. Develop and implement carbon management plans in line with PAS 2080 requirements.
  • Lead the certification and audit processes for both standards, working closely with our internal teams, external auditors and certification bodies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation to support compliance and certification requirements.

Carbon Management

  • Develop and implement carbon reduction strategies and initiatives to meet business critical net-zero targets.
  • Monitor, measure, and report on carbon emissions and energy use across all operations.
  • Conduct energy audits and implement measures to improve energy efficiency across our UK office sites.
  • Identify opportunities for carbon reduction in line with SBTi and other internationally recognised bodies’ recommendations and drive continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on carbon and energy performance, disseminating data to build a strong narrative towards decarbonisation.
  • Contribute to the Groups “Carbon Success Manager” programme, advising on whole life carbon within our Egis UK projects

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote carbon and energy management initiatives.
  • Provide training and support to staff on carbon and energy management best practice.
  • Present regularly at company-wide briefings – simplify complex language to effectively communicate initiatives and standards
