West Country Water Park is an Outdoor Water Sports Venue with Swimming, Paddle Sports, and an Aqua Park. We have a cafe, events area, and kitchen in our main building overlooking our beautiful lake.

This role combines Cafe Management downstairs with Events Catering Operations upstairs. It is a key leadership role in a growing, family-run business focused on developing both our cafe offering and our corporate/events services.

Core Responsibilities
Operational Management & Leadership
  • Organise rota for staff - Building the weekly rotas and ensuring we are staffed to an appropriate level.
  • Lead the team - Supervising, developing and motivating our existing cafe and front-of-house team.
  • Recruit and train seasonal staff for summer season.
  • Making sure the cafe is profitable taking into account raw material prices and labour.
  • Ordering food and drink for cafe and events at best value
  • Keeping wastage to a minimum
  • Make sure we are up to date on all hygiene standards - Ensuring food hygiene standards are adhered to at all times to maintain our 5 Star Certification.
  • Makes sure the kitchen stays clean and tidy
Events & Corporate
  • Make sure we are ready for corporate events and room hire - Ensuring our upstairs rooms are clean and prepped for each booking
  • Organise cooking food for corporate events and small team meetings (Preparing/Cook for our Corporate Events and Evening Parties).
Working Pattern
  • Work full time (Full-time, 37.5 per week)
  • Ad Hoc Evening work, particularly in summer months
Experience & Skills
  • Experience in leading a team.
  • Experience in stock management across cafes and/or kitchens and controlling wastage.
  • Experience in rota management.
  • Desire to grow and develop our offerings with an open mind to learning what is working well.
  • Passionate about wasting time wisely!
