Job description

As an experienced engineer, you will assist and support the Rental department in managing the logistics, operational tasks and build up of our new battery hybrid fleet. This involves communicating between staff at the depot and customers on site regarding suitability, set up and helping with training of engineers/installing hybrid energy systems as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Establish working relationships with the sales team and rental desks to ensure correct use and specification of equipment
  • Assist the Service desk with 2nd line customer support, resolving queries and checking that their needs have been met
  • Attend customer “project kick off” meetings at customer premises with sales team as required; assist sales team with specification of equipment
  • Identify and manage resources needed for maintenance and upkeep of hybrid fleet
  • Take a “hands on” approach, helping engineers place and install systems on a variety of customer sites and to develop engineers’ skill base with equipment
  • Liaise with Depot staff to ensure good working practices with maintenance and storage of assets
  • Liaise with Rental Manager and hire administration team, to allocate specific hire plant to satisfy customer requirements
  • Monitor Installations and update service and sales team on improvements or issues with systems
  • Report any lost or damaged hire equipment including correct documentation and evidence of damaged items on site
  • Comply with company health and safety policy, including carrying out general housekeeping to ensure work areas are tidy. This includes company vehicles.
  • Comply with all aspects of the company ISO H&S, Quality and Environmental Management procedures, proactively contributing to the company’s continuous improvement programme.
Skills and Experience Required
  • Good understanding of Generator / Plant Hire market
  • Good organizational and communications skills
  • Be willing to work remotely and work flexible hours
  • A full Driving Licence
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to establish and maintain good relationships with customers and sales teams
  • Understanding of electrical installations and system loading
  • IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office or similar
