Job description

We are now looking for a Accounts & Treasury Assistant to join our Group Finance team. The key focus of the role covers the Group’s Treasury function, accounts assistant work including maintaining fixed asset register and assisting with monthly reconciliations, preparation of turnover certificates and supplier set‑ups.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone wishing to pursue a career in Finance. This role would be ideally suited to someone looking to gain exposure to a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

What will you do as a Accounts & Treasury Assistant?
  • Treasury tasks, including producing weekly cash reports, cashflow forecast, raising manual payments on adhoc basis.
  • Organising the completion of turnover certificate workings, including the initial review. Liaising with Landlords with regards to the certificates and any top up payments due.
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and monthly postings in relation to fixed assets.
  • Monthly reconciliations – preparation of monthly reconciliations for various account codes.
  • New supplier set up. Working with other stakeholders in the business and the Accounts Payable team to ensure complete and accurate set‑up of new suppliers.
  • Raising POs for the finance team, cleansing of PO data, and weekly reporting of Pos, PO training.
  • Preparation of VAT receipts for customers and other sales invoices on an adhoc basis.
  • Completion of National Statistics surveys. Working with stakeholders within the business for completion.
  • Stock accrual posting
  • Expenses posting
  • Any other ad hoc tasks
What will you need to succeed as our Accounts & Treasury Assistant?
  • Looking to study ACCA/CIMA qualification
  • Good organisational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Can work independently as well as be a team player and flexible in approach to work
  • Proficient in Office programmes, particularly Excel
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic knowledge of accounting – debits and credits, reconciliations
  • Basic knowledge of treasury – payments
Desirable:
  • Experience of Retail industry
  • Experience of using accounting software (Unit 4 Financials – CODA)
  • Experience with Barclays.NET
  • Stakeholder management experience
