A leading medical device manufacturer in France is seeking a UK MDM Sales Manager to drive sales growth in the UK market. The role involves significant prospecting, managing customer relationships, and project management in a dynamic environment. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree related to business or packaging, at least 5 years of B2B sales experience, especially in medical packaging, and excellent negotiation skills. This position requires travel up to 70% of the time.
Sterimed is a leading manufacturer of materials and packaging systems for the sterilization of medical devices, with 1,500 employees and 14 factories across 3 continents. The group focuses on bacterial barrier substrates and preformed sterilization packaging for hospitals and medical device manufacturers. The main site in France concentrates the industrial expertise and serves as the group’s innovation center. To support growth, we are looking for a UK MDM Sales Manager M/F for the MDM business unit.
The mission of the area sales manager is to manage, create, identify, develop and close profitable new business in the UK market and develop a portfolio of new customers. Prospecting is the main mission to grow business in the Medical Device Manufacturer sector, while also servicing an existing portfolio of customers. This role requires project management skills to drive product validation with customers and to act as the link between customers and our technical department.
You must turn business opportunities into profitable orders to ensure order intake and sustainable market growth. You will work collaboratively with key stakeholders and manage customer relationships. You will build your annual sales budget from customer forecasts and new business converted into orders. The role requires being an efficient team player who can interface at all levels within the organization and operate in a multi-disciplined and multi-cultural environment. The position involves traveling up to 70% of the time within the UK and occasional trips to South America and France for company seminars 2 to 3 times a year.
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Business Administration in international trade and business / negotiation
• Bachelor of Science, Packaging Engineering with an emphasis in international trade and business / negotiation
Working experience
• Minimum 5 years in an export sales position
• B2B experience is compulsory
• Technical knowledge in medical sterile packaging or general/food packaging is appreciated
