Group Risk is looking for a risk controller to join Risk Oversight International, based in Helsinki but that will overtime also work supporting other branches in SEB. About the role

Group Risk is an independent (2nd line of defence) control function reporting to the Chief Risk Officer of SEB Group. Risk Oversight International has teams in all SEB AB branches with 1-3 persons in each team. Our role is to protect the bank and the branch from excessive risk by independently monitoring that risks are identified, measured, analysed, controlled and reported.

You will be based in Helsinki and will report to the Head of Risk Oversight International. Main focus will be to support and work closely with Risk Oversight in Helsinki branch, but over time the role shall also be flexible to work with Risk Oversight in other branches depending on where resources and competence is needed within our international team.

Your main responsibilities will be to:

1. Understand the SEB Group Risk Frameworks around credit, market, liquidity and non-financial risks – where non-financial risk will be the main focus area.
2. Understand local regulatory requirements on risk control as well as the impact of regulations and changes thereof.
3. Support the business in understanding their risks and facilitate the identification of new and emerging risks.
4. Support in the preparation of risk reports for local management and Group Risk Oversight.
5. Control and monitor risk limits/tolerances.
6. Escalate potential breaches in accordance with Group Risk Instructions and follow-up of agreed risk reduction measures in the event of limit violations.
7. Assist in ensuring that all business units have sufficient knowledge of the SEB Group Risk processes, tools and reports relevant to their business.

To thrive in this role, we believe you have:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Mathematics or equivalent qualification.
2. Ideally previous professional experience in a comparable position and specific knowledge in the Non-Financial Risk area.
3. Persistent, curious and dare to challenge in a constructive manner.
4. Collaborative – collaboration with colleagues locally and globally is essential for success in the role.
5. Interested to work with financial risks but have mainly non-financial risks.
6. Great in communicating in English.
