Overview

The Software Development Lead/Manager is a mid-management position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team or department to establish and implement new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology Team. The objective is to drive technological innovation within the organization. This hands-on leadership role requires deep technical expertise, strong management skills, and a passion for building cutting-edge solutions. The candidate will guide architectural decisions, foster a collaborative development environment, and ensure the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure applications.

Responsibilities
  • Hands-on technology leader with strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, Microservices, OpenShift, AWS or other cloud platforms, databases (SQL/NoSQL), and CI/CD pipelines
  • Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
  • In-depth experience with branching strategies and managing code repositories using Bitbucket and GitHub
  • Champion code quality initiatives, including static code analysis, unit testing, and integration testing
  • Hands-on experience designing system, application, and integration architectures
  • Experience communicating technology roadmap and budget considerations to stakeholders
  • Manage a team of developers, providing coaching, performance feedback, and career development opportunities
  • Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management, and planning while monitoring results
  • Utilize deep knowledge of development concepts and procedures to resolve issues
  • Contribute to defining standards and ensure essential procedures are followed
  • Integrate knowledge of applications development with the overall technology function to achieve goals
  • Provide evaluative judgment in complex, dynamic situations, drawing from internal and external sources
  • Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions and communicate with external parties as necessary
  • Assess risk in business decisions, safeguard the firm's reputation and assets, drive compliance with laws and policies, escalate and manage control issues, and supervise others to maintain standards
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of software development experience with a focus on Java technologies
  • 5+ years in a leadership role managing a team of developers
  • Proven track record designing and implementing complex, scalable systems
  • Implementation of GenAI projects is a plus
  • Trade finance banking knowledge is a plus
  • Experience managing global technology teams
  • Working knowledge of industry practices and standards
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred

Primary Location: Tampa, Florida, United States

Primary Location Full Time Salary Range: $141,440.00 - $212,160.00

In addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may include discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
