Qualifications

• Must have RN license and at least 5 years of Hemodialysis experience or equivalent acute care experience.
• BLS and ACLS certifications needed.
• Ability to care for critical patients and emotional intelligence for patient interaction.

Responsibilities

• Independently care for a group of dialysis patients using nursing processes.
• Delegate patient care activities to other health care team members.
• Monitor and update care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Respond to medical emergencies for critical patients.

• Location: St. Joesph's Hospital – Tampa, Florida

• Status: Full Time

• Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

• Every other weekend requirement

• On Call: Yes

• Always in person

Requirements

• RN (Registered Nurse) License

• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's or Higher in Nursing

• 5 years as a Registered Nurse in Hemodialysis OR 1-year Acute Care as a RN OR 6-months Acute Care experience with prior LPN experience and completed competency assessment

• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association

• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Works in a hospital setting and independently cares for a group of Dialysis patients consistently using the nursing process and clinical standards

• Delegates appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team

• Care for patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care

• Monitor, record, and update care team on patient vitals and assessments

• Identifying sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition

• Responding to medical emergencies for critical patients

• Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge

• High emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience that includes simplifying medical terminology and concepts to the patient
