It’s a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the emerging onchain platform — and with it, the future global financial system. We’re seeking a very specific candidate who is passionate about our mission and who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. The HR Business Partner will support one or more functional teams, translating business strategy into people & org strategy, and collaborating with leaders on engagement, org health, performance management, employee development, diversity, policy, and more. In-person participation is required throughout the year, with team and company-wide offsites to foster collaboration and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.

The HR Business Partner is a key member of our People team, working to improve and impact every employee’s experience at Coinbase, using data and sound judgment to influence growth and scale of the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Work with relevant stakeholders to spearhead people programs and strategies that enhance our culture, including performance management, compensation, talent development & feedback, employee engagement & retention, and internal communications.
  • Partner with functional leaders on org design, planning, and relevant people strategies at scale.
  • Provide coaching on skill & professional development, career pathing and leveling, change management, and sensitive people situations.
  • Identify and advise leaders on the development needs of their teams and functions.
  • Approach people matters with an eye toward compliance and reducing risks; help build and apply HR policies and manage global employee relations issues.
  • Analyze trends and use data to develop people insights and influence change.
  • Build strong working relationships across the business and with the People Team COEs.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience as an HR professional, chief of staff, or consultant.
  • Ability to create, improve, and execute on people processes and programs with efficient execution.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills with poise and good judgment in nuanced situations.
  • Data-driven decision making experience or demonstrated analytical thinking.
  • Clear communication and escalation skills.
  • Comfort with giving and receiving feedback across all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Motivation to solve problems in ambiguous environments.
  • Strong integrity, confidentiality, work ethic, and ownership & accountability.
