Full‑time Veterinary Technician / Assistant
Position Overview
- The Veterinary Technician supports hospital operations by providing dedicated quality veterinary care and exceptional service to our patients and clients. Responsibilities include determining animal requirements, conducting examinations and diagnostic procedures, assisting during surgery and operations, providing nursing care, caring for feeding and patient needs, maintaining medical supplies and equipment, overseeing triage and discharge, and maintaining patient medical records.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine animal requirements by conducting examinations and interviews, reviewing care plans, completing laboratory tests, and diagnostic imaging.
- Care for patients by taking vital signs, collecting samples, administering medications, vaccines, and treatments, and bandaging wounds.
- Support examinations and operations by assembling supplies, bringing patients to the exam rooms, restraining patients, and assisting the veterinarian as directed.
- Apply full knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, pharmacology, specialized equipment usage, and drug administration.
- Obtain and verify medications.
- Ensure patients have food and water, keep rooms, cages, and equipment clean, and observe patients for clinical signs of disease.
- Fill prescriptions, administer controlled drugs, and document all procedures.
- Maintain a safe, secure, healthy, and humane environment by sterilizing instruments, sanitizing areas, storing supplies, verifying shelf life, and following legal regulations.
- Document patients’ conditions, reactions, and changes in the database accurately and promptly.
- Communicate patient status to owners as directed by the veterinarian.
- Maintain and troubleshoot equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and arrange repairs.
- Manage inventory, place orders, verify receipts, and maintain supplies.
- Update job knowledge through educational opportunities and professional journals.
- Release pets to owners, ensuring each animal is clean and groomed.
- Follow oral and written directions and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Required)
- High school diploma or GED.
- All experience levels will be considered.
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)
- Veterinary medicine and/or related experience.
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT), Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT), Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT), or Licensed Veterinary Medical Technician (LVMT).
Schedule
- Flexible to work various shifts during operating hours, Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am – 8:00 pm (no weekends).
- Partial availability is welcome and will be accommodated.

Pay Range
$15 — $25 USD
