Job summary

Job description
The Role

The successful post holder will deliver specialist dietetic intervention and management of a surgical and upper GI nutritional support caseload. The successful candidate will be required to work at a specialist level & use previous experience working within the identified specialities to deliver expert evidence-based dietetic assessment, treatment, and advice.

This Will Include Providing a Dietetic Service To
  • In patients in both surgical and medical settings
  • Outpatients on two hospital sites
What we'll need you to bring
  • The successful candidate will be required to work at a specialist level & use previous experience working within the identified specialities to deliver expert evidence-based dietetic assessment, treatment, and advice.
  • The successful candidate will require previous experience managing complex enteral and parenteral feeding.
  • The post holder will be required to provide cover and/or support to the hospital Dietetic Team in the management of patients referred to the Dietetic Department when required.
  • The post will involve both inpatient and outpatient working which will require flexibility in work patterns.
  • Multidisciplinary working is essential.
  • To develop a sustainable model for the Upper GI Dietetic service.
  • To provide support and mentorship to junior members of staff within the dietetic team and provide peer support as indicated.
  • To participate in student training programme as required.
  • Car Driver with valid licence and access to own vehicle.
It would be great if you also have
  • Member of PENG/Attendance at PENG course or willingness to do so
  • Attendance of causes pertaining to dietetic and Upper GI disease and pancreatitis
  • Be able to guide and develop HCSW staff
  • Be actively involved in student training
Contract type

Fixed Term or Secondment for a duration of 12 months.

37 hours

Please note this is a fixed term post for the duration of 12 months. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

Location and Working Pattern
