About The Team

The role sits within the Group Planning, Analysis & Reporting Finance Team, a pivotal team within the Finance Community of The Very Group. We provide insightful and consistent management reporting that influences strategic thinking and drives budgets, quarterly forecasts, and long‑range plans. We develop close relationships with all finance teams and wider business groups and require an engaging individual who embraces challenge, communicates effectively, and seeks better ways to achieve team goals.

About The Role

The role requires ownership of all Group Planning processes and delivery of accurate, timely forecasts to support Executive and Board decision‑making. You will manage a team of three individuals, react quickly to priority changes, and communicate high‑quality information to stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ownership of all Group Planning Processes
  • Work with, challenge, and deliver analysis for Board decision‑making
  • Define, communicate, and manage Group planning and forecasting processes to deadlines, ensuring accuracy and alignment with governance
  • Use judgement to assess information quality and focus on critical matters, acting as trusted partner to the function
  • Drive continuous improvement and identify efficiencies in forecasting and ways of working
  • Develop and enhance planning tools
  • Explore improvement of existing planning tools and propose solutions using Hyperion and Excel
  • Work cross‑functionally to develop a roadmap for migrating to an Oracle EPM solution
About You
  • A qualified accountant with more than 3 years post‑qualified experience and a proven track record of delivering change
  • Demonstrable organisational skills and experience in managing complex financial processes
  • FP&A experience and comfort working with financial models
  • A driven leader who can develop highly productive stakeholder relationships
  • A strong team player with low ego who works effectively cross‑functionally
  • Commercially focused with attention to accounting detail and end‑to‑end value
  • Proven successes in developing insightful reporting and analysis for Executive/Board level decision‑making
  • Technical aptitude for analytical work, preferably with Hyperion/Oracle EPM experience
  • Sound understanding of all primary financial statements
