Job description
Purpose of the Role

To assist with the smooth running of the shopping centre and to assist with all emergency situations when they occur. This includes providing visible security cover to the Centre, handling enquiries and customer concerns, monitoring CCTV (by suitably trained and licensed staff) and controlling contractors and deliveries to the Centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work the hours and shifts in accordance with conditions of employment.
  • Undertake regular patrols of the Centre as instructed by the Centre Manager.
  • Carry out duties in accordance with instructions issued by Centre Manager.
  • Comply fully with the Health & Safety Policy for the centre.
  • Comply with individual responsibilities to ensure that the requirements of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order are complied with, in line with company policy and site procedures.
  • Ensure that the Rules & Regulations of the Centre are always complied with.
  • Ensure that all incidents are recorded in Incident Log.
  • Ensure that contractors arriving on site adhere fully to requirements for contractor management and site H&S in line with the company policy and site procedures.
  • Ensure that the centre is a safe and pleasant environment.
  • Assist with enquiries from the public if so required.
  • Be aware of and abide by all rules, terms and conditions of the company.
  • Ensure compliance with the Security Industry Act 2001; officers must hold a valid SIA Door supervisor Licence and where necessary a Public Space Surveillance Licence.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Candidates will be required to demonstrate the following:

Essential
  • Experience in the provision of security services in a busy environment visited by members of the public.
  • Compliance with the Security Industry Act 2001; officers must hold a valid SIA Door supervisor Licence and where necessary a Public Space Surveillance Licence.
  • Ability to always demonstrate good levels of customer service.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and deal with demanding situations.
  • Honest and reliable work ethic.
  • Willingness to partake in on-site training for emergency procedures.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to adopt a flexible approach to work patterns and work weekends/evenings as and when required.
  • Willingness to undertake additional training and career development.
  • Well presented.
  • Accurate record keeping with good attention to detail.
Desirable
  • Operational experience within a retailing environment.
  • Ability to use full range of Microsoft applications inc. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Basic knowledge of H&S legislation.

Working Hours - 44.33 hours per week, 4 on 2 off, 07:00-16:00, 12:00-22:00

Salary - £13.07ph / £30,108.52pa
