Job Role: Relief Security Officer

Working Hours: Zero hours

Pay: £13.30 per hour

Reporting to: Operations Manager / Contracts Manager

Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Anchor Group Services, for an experienced security professional to join our established team based at Waverley Market in Edinburgh as a Relief Security Officer. This position has arisen as a result of Anchor’s ongoing expansion, making it an exciting time to join our expanding team and be part of a dynamic future.

As a Relief Security Officer, you will be responsible for conducting regular patrols throughout the shopping centre, monitoring activity to ensure a safe and secure environment for all visitors and staff. You will be required to respond promptly to incidents, liaise professionally with members of the public and site management, and maintain accurate records in line with operational procedures. A strong presence, attention to detail, and commitment to upholding site security standards are essential.

The successful candidate must have a valid SIA Licence as a minimum and previous security experience is essential. You will need to be flexible and ready to provide cover as needed.

Duties

• Protect the client’s property, people and/or assets by providing security services in accordance with the site's published Assignment Instructions (AI's) and site-specific procedures.
• Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities; inform offenders of policy and procedures.
• Prevent and elevate incidents in a timely, accurate and appropriate manner to the Control Room, Shift Manager, Operations Manager or Emergency Services as appropriate for serious incidents.
• Operate and monitor site CCTV equipment.
• Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities.
• Maintain the organisation's stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Act as a first line support to customers and visitors on site, providing a professional and friendly service.
• Understand customer needs, respond accordingly to customer queries and requests, and take appropriate action.
• Maintain professional conduct at all times.

Requirements

• Full 5-year employment checkable history.
• Valid front-end SIA licence (DS or SG).
• Customer Service experience and confidence to handle conflict in a correct manner.
• Flexible to meet the job requirements.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Smart appearance and be well-groomed.
• Reliable and punctual.
• High level of enthusiasm and passion.
• Ability to work in a fast-moving environment.
