Job summary

A leading engineering consultancy is looking for a Principal Structural Engineer/Analyst for their Aberdeen office. This full-time role offers a flexible hybrid working model, where you can work remotely two days a week. Responsibilities include performing structural analyses and supporting offshore operations. Candidates should have a relevant engineering degree and experience with preferred industry-standard analysis packages such as SESAM GeniE, StaadPro, and ABAQUS. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about engineering and wants to contribute within a dynamic team.

Qualifications

  • High levels of proficiency in SESAM GeniE analysis packages preferred.
  • Experience with energy industry standard analysis packages essential.
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant oil & gas industry codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis of jackets, topsides, and floating assets.
  • Support offshore operations and decommissioning activities.
  • Conduct fatigue and dynamic analysis.

Skills

Proficiency in SESAM GeniE analysis packages
Experience with StaadPro, USFOS, ABAQUS, ANSYS
Knowledge of wave theory and wave kinematics
Excellent written and spoken English

Education

Related Engineering Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Naval Architecture
Chartered Engineer or actively working towards chartership

Key Duties
  • Perform structural analysis of jackets, topsides, and floating assets
  • Support offshore operations, structural assurance, major projects, life extension, and decommissioning activities
  • Inplace analysis and code compliance assessments
  • Fatigue and dynamic analysis
  • Pushover, redundancy and boat impact analysis (advantageous but a mandatory requirement)
  • Support wider group activities of Structural Integrity Management, Weight Control, and Decommissioning.
  • Related Engineering Degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Naval Architecture degree (B.Eng/M.Sc/P.hD)
  • Chartered Engineer, or actively working towards chartership (preferred)
Experience / competence
  • Highlevels of proficiency in SESAM GeniE analysis packages (preferred)
  • Experienceیری industry standard analysis packages - StaadPro, USFOS, ABAQUS and ANSYS (essential)
  • Good understanding of structural linear and non-linear behaviour karde
  • Good understanding of civil and structural drawing skills
  • Knowledge of wave theory, wave kinematics, and Morison equation.
  • Significant, demonstrable experience in detailed design engineering and engineering checking
  • T horough knowledge and understanding of relevant oil & gas industry codes and standards(e.g., ISO, API, DNV, etc.)
  • D etailed understanding of all engineering disciplines
  • Understands the application of Autodesk Design products
  • Competent in the use of MS Office applications
  • Excellent written and spoken English
