VIAVI employees are passionate about supporting customer success and we welcome people who bring their best every day to the company - to question, to collaborate and to push for solutions that will delight our customers.**Duties & Responsibilities:**As a Principal 6G AI Algorithm Engineer, you will be responsible for developing candidate technologies for 6G advanced wireless and beyond.**Key Responsibilities**· Architecture design and development for 6G baseband processing systems to enable extreme data rates, ultra-low latency and AI-integrated baseband processing.· Design and develop novel algorithm for 6G physical layer technologies (beamforming, MIMO, demodulation, channel coding, channel estimation / equalisation, synchronization).· Design and train deep learning models for AI/ML for air interface.· Provide technical guidance to engineering teams.**To be successful in this role your skills may include:**· Master’s degree or PHD in Communication/Telecommunication or Wireless Communication Engineering· Strong background in wireless communications and/or machine learning· Extensive and proven experience in wireless baseband development (5G/LTE experience highly valued)· Proven track record of implementing complex algorithms· Extensive experience in software development.· Deep knowledge of LTE/5G physical layer implementation· Knowledge of AI, deep learning, Tensorflow, Pytorch is desirable· Solid real-time signal processing development experience in multi-threaded systems.· A good understanding of the x86 computer architecture.· Product-quality C/C++ implementations of PHY functions· Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities· Ability to work in fast-paced development cycles· Good knowledge of Python and the Sionna Digital Communications Library· MATLAB knowledge and experience is desirable.**As a person you will have:**· Strong collaboration and team working skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships cross-functionally and across all levels· The ability to manage complex and multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment· Proven proactivity and drive· Ability to solve significant and unique issues using in depth evaluation of variable factors· Makes recommendations on strategic decisions**Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:**If you have what it takes to push boundaries and seize opportunities, apply to join our team today.
