We have a great opportunity available to join Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Five Wells, working as a Functional Skills Curriculum Manager. This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

Site Information

HMP Five Wells is a Category C prison that is based in Wellingborough. Built in 2022, and costing £253m, this state of the art prison accommodates a male prison population. HMP Five Wells are committed to celebrating diversity and promoting equality throughout their services. The prisons' aim is to make Five Wells a better place to live, work and visit through collaborative working with third party partners, the MOJ and its surrounding communities.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Hold a teaching qualification - minimum Cert Ed or PGCE
  • Hold a Degree or equivalent level of qualification (and/or equivalent life and career experience)
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
  • Experience of implementing continuous quality assurance procedures
  • Have a good track record of successful partnership working
  • Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Show an ability to motivate and enthuse teams
  • Demonstrate organisational skills to prioritise workload and meet challenging deadlines and targets
  • Demonstrate competency in analysing trends and identifying impact on curriculum
  • Have good IT Skills
