This is a full‑time, office‑based position in the centre of Chester, although hybrid working is available after successful completion of probation.

Oliver & Co is one of a small handful of law firms in the UK that are 100% Employee‑Owned . That means no matter your role, you are an equal part of the team and share in our success.

What is it like to work at Oliver & Co? Well, we like to think we have created somewhere where people are happy to come and work every day, where the offices are somewhat colourful, and where talented, successful people get on in their careers.

  • A willingness to learn and grow.
  • A desire to be a valuable part of an ambitious and driven team.

The Role

We’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running:

  • Highly experienced in Personal Injury – ideally with a strong background in industrial disease claims.
  • Able to work independently – you’ll manage your own caseload confidently and take ownership of cases from start to finish.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing your own caseload of industrial disease claims.
  • Speaking to clients, liaising with experts, drafting witness statements and court documents.
  • Maintaining accurate files using our case management system (Leap).
  • Handling new enquiries efficiently and professionally.
  • Applying strong client care skills and commercial awareness.
  • Taking full ownership of all correspondence, including drafting and managing letters and emails, handling inbound post, and completing related administrative tasks.

Skills & Experience

  • Extensive experience in PI and industrial disease work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technology.
  • Self‑managed, organised and a high level of initiative.
  • Integrity to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • A ‘Can Do’ and dynamic attitude.
  • Experience of dealing with past disease claims, including noise‑induced hearing loss and asbestos disease claims would be welcomed; full training will be provided.
