Senior Care and Support Assistant

Sanctuary Supported Living is recruiting for a Senior Care and Support Assistant at our CQC Registered Scheme at Clover Court, Lowestoft.

We specialise in delivering personalised housing, care, and support services to help people across England live as independently as possible. We are a national, not-for-profit organisation focused on putting our customers at the heart of what we do. Responsibilities include delivering care directly or supporting frontline teams to make a difference every day.

Responsibilities
  • Leading a team of Care and Support Assistants
  • Working closely with staff to provide personal care and support to customers, encouraging them to enhance their independence and personal potential
  • Safe handling of medication
  • Building and maintaining relationships with internal and external customers
  • Promoting safe practices and undertaking risk assessments as appropriate
  • Managing and implementing safeguarding principles to ensure the safety of our customers
Skills and experience
  • Previous experience supervising a team
  • Personalised approach to care and support, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to form positive relationships with people from varied backgrounds
  • Recent experience of working in a similar role with vulnerable people is essential
  • Enthusiastic and flexible with a strong “can-do” attitude
  • Strong organisational skills as well as functional literacy and numeracy
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and best practice
  • NVQ level 2 in Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards is desirable
