A leading global energy firm in Stafford seeks a skilled assembly technician for their transformer manufacturing team. Responsibilities include ensuring product quality and adherence to safety protocols while implementing lean manufacturing techniques. Candidates should possess a general education background and hands-on experience in mechanical assembly. This role operates on a night shift, providing unique opportunities in a dynamic international environment with competitive benefits.

You will be part of a team focused on the manufacture of large power transformers to meet customer / production plans, ensuring assembly, inspection and test is conducted using Lean methodology. Working to specifications and instructions, using the correct tools and methods. Meeting exacting standards expected by the customer.
PLEASE BE AWARE these are permanent nights (there will be a premium shift allowance):
For Permanent nights:
Mon - Thurs 10pm – 6am
Fri 6pm - midnight
Environment / Health / Safety: Compliance with EHS adherence to safe working operating procedures from the perspective of their own safety and safety of their work colleagues.
Product on time delivery: Responsible for the build of the product to the manufacturing plan.
Product Quality:

Lichfield Road manufacturing facility has been originally established in 1903 and has been standing since 1960 as a part of English Electric group, delivering power transformers, that later merged GEC Alsthom and later became ALSTOM, and has been acquired by GE in 2015. Stafford is ideally suited for research and advanced manufacturing with our highly skilled staff and position at the heart of the UK's transport network. GE is proud to be the largest employer in Stafford, with around 1,700 employees across multiple sites.
The transformer facility has been renowned all over the world with its expertise in design, manufacturing, and delivery of HVAC and HVDC transformers world-wide, up to 800kV.
