Job Title

Senior Physiotherapy Assistant (two positions)

Contract Details

Location: Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, Colney Lane, Norwich, NR4 7UY

Role type: Permanent (and Fixed term/secondment for 28 weeks) 37.5 hrs per week

Band: 3; Salary: £24,937 to £26,598 per annum (pro rata)

Job Summary

Work within the Neurosciences and Cancer Care Team to support inpatients recovering from a range of neurological conditions. The role involves therapeutic support, patient management and close teamwork with physiotherapists and the multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide physiotherapy support on inpatient wards, assisting in recovery from acute illness
  • Work as part of the multidisciplinary team, developing new skills and accessing training and professional development opportunities
  • Perform a variety of non‑clinical and clinical tasks in accordance with care pathways
  • Operate autonomously within a specified clinical area to deliver delegated clinical tasks
  • Support teaching and supervision of patients, including simple exercise programmes and use of walking aids
  • Assist with administrative duties to support the Physiotherapy service
Person Specification – Essential
  • Evidence of completion of Physiotherapy Assistant competencies and practical application
  • Level 3 Diploma in Allied Health Support, NVQ in Care, or equivalent experience
  • Significant previous experience as a health‑care support worker, including within a physiotherapy service
  • Demonstrated role Solomon', model qualities, aligning with NNUH PRIDE values

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Availability to work weekends as part of rota
