**Senior Developer (Full time) Salary £56,312 - £65,697 (dependent on experience) - Hybrid working****A****bout Ordnance Survey****About the Role**As a Senior Developer, you will play a key role in designing, building, and delivering high-quality AI-driven software solutions that form complete, integrated services. You’ll lead technical delivery and champion best practices across the engineering lifecycle**What You’ll be doing*** Lead technical delivery on complex projects, collaborating with architects, delivery managers, and stakeholders* Continuously improve engineering capability through coaching, mentoring, and technical leadership* Operate and enhance production services for robustness, resilience, and stability* Share knowledge and best practices and identify training opportunities for the team* Communicate goals and technical issues effectively across teams* Provide line management to Engineers and Associate Engineers (as required)**What We’re Looking For*** Proven experience as a senior developer in backend development* Strong skills in Python, SQL and cloud-based AI frameworks (e.g Databricks, azure AI services)* Proficient with Azure-based software development including Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD, Entra ID RBAC and Azure Services* Understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and agile delivery* Experience with geospatial data, REST APIs, JSON and spatial query engines (e.g. Apache Spark)* Experience with Generative AI technologies including Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) and Prompt/Context Engineering* Passion for continuous improvement and delivering high-quality solutions**The Rewards**We want you to love what you do.
