Are you a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) looking to advance your career in a supportive and close-knit team? My client, an independent first opinion small animal veterinary practice, could be your next professional home. Here, you will have the chance to fully utilise your skills in a modern, purpose-built clinic.
Imagine working in a beautifully renovated Grade II listed building equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, including ultrasound, digital X-ray, dental machine, in‑house lab (Idexx), and endoscope. The practice features two consult rooms, two theatres, a prep room, a dedicated in‑patient ward, a large waiting room, a nurses' station, a fully equipped kitchen, and a welcoming reception area.
The role offers a balanced 4‑day working week from 08:30 to 18:30, with a share of the on‑call rota – 1 in 4 weekends (Friday 18:30‑23:30, Saturday and Sunday 08:30‑23:30) and 1‑2 weeknights per month (18:30‑23:30). On‑call duties are generally peaceful; you will only be called in if needed. Overnight hospitalisation is shared among the nurses, with a half‑day off in lieu of each overnight shift.
Rose Valley Vets values continuous professional development (CPD) and offers funding for further certificates. Additional benefits include RCVS and VDS fees paid, private medical insurance (BUPA), and services and medication for your own pets at cost. Salary is competitive and based on experience.
The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience and be confident in nurse consults, patient admissions/discharges, anaesthesia monitoring, surgical nursing, in‑patient care, and recovery. Strong laboratory skills and clinical administration are essential, as is the ability to support junior team members and student nurses. Enthusiasm and ideas for practice growth are highly valued.
