We are currently recruiting for Mud Manto join our team based in Liverpool.
Separation Plant Operation and Control
Operating Separation Plant: Operating and monitoring the surface separation plant, which includes shaker screens, hydro-cyclones, and, frequently, a decanting centrifuge to separate solids from the slurry.
Optimising Slurry Quality: Managing the density, viscosity, and composition of the slurry to ensure it is suitable for the geology being bored.
Controlling Separation Processes: Adjusting the slurry feed rate and managing removal of sub-63μm particles using a centrifuge to minimise water content in the waste.
Slurry Circuit Management
Managing the Slurry System: Monitoring the closed-loop slurry system, including the feeding of clean slurry to the cutter head and the return of slurry loaded with excavated material.
Dosing Flocculants: Managing the addition of chemicals (flocculants) to the separation process to ensure efficient separation of fines.
Pressure Monitoring: Assisting in monitoring the slurry pressure to prevent ground collapse or over-excavation, ensuring it balances with the geology.
Maintenance and Inspection
Equipment Maintenance: Conducting daily maintenance and checks on the separation plant, slurry pumps, and tanks.
Troubleshooting: Identifying issues in the slurry circuit, such as blockages or inefficient separation, and taking corrective action.
Waste Management: Managing the disposal of solid waste and ensuring the recycled liquid is within specification for reuse.
