The Role

As a Communications Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the technical delivery of secure end to end radio solutions in a multi-bearer, mobile environment from high level design to delivery and transition to service. Day-to-day, you’ll be working in a varied, fast paced, and exciting environment providing support towards technical delivery of innovative solutions that will transition into service.

Your responsibilities

• Reviewing designs and taking existing documents and reading across system requirements to validate the design and produce test documentation
• Creating and running test plans and schedules contributing towards test strategy decisions
• Working with other parts of QinetiQ, customers, and subcontractors to integrate technology into wider systems
• Identifying and resolving technical issues by using your own knowledge or seeking others knowledge to solve problems
• Producing clear and concise documentation appropriate to the project or recipient

Essential experience

• An Engineering background with an understanding of requirements capture, integrations planning and testing
• Previous experience in communications within industry or the Armed Forces
• Familiarity with the operation and integration of equipment within communication systems
• The ability to work collaboratively within teams and be self motivated
• Knowledge of communication systems
• The ability to work with stakeholders and deliver demonstrations to customers

This role is 37 hours per week based at PTP, Portsmouth. This role is on-site 5 days per week.

Portsmouth Technology Park (PTP) is one of QinetiQ’s key facilities, focusing on advanced technology development and engineering services.
