Are you a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Practitioner (AP) with expertise in paediatric asthma care? The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is recruiting a Specialist Paediatric Advanced Practitioner to lead an exciting new asthma service as part of a 6‑month pilot. In this role you will play a pivotal part in improving asthma care for children and young people by delivering rapid post‑discharge support through a 48‑hour review. The review will include an inhaler technique assessment, a personalised asthma action plan and tailored education to the child/young person and their family.
The National Child Mortality Database (NCMD) emphasises the importance of timely post‑attack management: "Recognise asthma attacks as significant events and ensure the correct pathways are in place for a detailed ‘post attack review’ to be conducted within 48 hours." This pilot anticipates the upcoming refresh of the NHS England Bundle of Care for Children and Young People with Asthma, expected in summer 2025, which will introduce a new structured three‑stage approach to post‑attack management.

We love working here and think you will too.
