The role involves supporting Type 1 diabetes patients, providing dietetic service, and leading service development. The position is based in Greater London and requires flexibility across multiple sites.
Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospital Trust are seeking a band 7 Dietitian with a special interest in Diabetes to join the team for a 12‑month fixed‑term / secondment due to service expansion and the start of the insulin pump service.
We are looking for a self‑motivated, team player to help improve patient care and outcomes across the Trust. You must have experience in diabetes, detailed knowledge of diabetes treatment and carbohydrate counting, and ideally some experience in caring for patients on insulin pumps. You will be involved in supporting Type 1 diabetes patients and the diabetes insulin pump service. This will include dietitian‑led clinic work, assessing in‑patients with diabetes on pumps, reviewing and suggesting treatment, and giving advice and education to patients, relatives and ward staff.
Availability across sites is required; initially the role will be based in KGH but may be required to cover a 7‑day working week. Although it is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract, the actual duration will be adjusted for recruitment and pre‑employment processes.
You will support and supervise junior dietitians and nurses, and work with a team that displays our PRIDE values: Passion, Responsibility, Innovation, Drive and Empowerment.
